Only ten days till Short Sweet+Dance officially launches!
The full official 2009 line-up can be viewed on http://www.shortandsweet.org so make sure that you check it out.
AND, to give you an indication of how diverse the line-up is, we will be featuring works that fuse everything from contemporary, ballroom, lyrical hip hop, tap, acrobatics, adagio, and African-all under ten minutes!
Judging from the hub of rehearsal activity happening in and around Sydney, our artists are busy creating and tailoring their ten-minute original dance works.
The season, which runs February 24th to March 14th 2009, will showcase the work of over thirty professional choreographers, and feature many emerging and established performing artists.
Each week, ten works are presented as part of the week season, AND six works are presented as part of the Wildcard series.
The wild card series are scheduled for Saturday Feb 28 and March 7 at 2pm. Make sure that you get down to check out these performances-the works are amazing, and feature graduates from Urban Dance Centre, Link, Quantum Leap, QUT, Dance Works, VCA and Wesley College.
To buy tickets you can contact the Seymour Centre box office

Don’t forget, that Short Sweet+Dance offers a series of awards including Most Outstanding Choreography, Best new Talent, Most Outstanding Male and Female Dancer and the People’s Choice Award.
Be sure to come along and fill out the ballot form-your vote can help launch an artist’s career
And for all those dance addicts out there, tuesday to saturday means you can come check out Short Sweet+Dance, and on a Sunday, the day of ‘rest’, turn on the box and support some of our very own SS+D choreographers like Travers Ross, who present their choreography weekly on Ten’s SYTYCD 2 series.
Oh, and one last thing, I should mention that I have just been appointed the new director of Western Sydney Dance Action.
So anyone wanting to check out what we do, how to get involved, pitch an idea, swing a leg, buy a ticket, say hello or become a member, then look us up at http://www.wsda.org.au
That’s all from me for now.
Remember-your support can make dance happen
See you at the festival!
