It wasn’t until after completing a Bachelor of Arts Degree (English & French) and a year as an Entertainer at Wonderland Sydney that Jo launched herself into the full-time world of the Performing Arts and Entertainment Industry.
As a performer, teacher and choreographer Jo Bolden has a wide variety of experience. As a dancer this experience has included performances such as the Footy Show Grand Final Edition, Leo Sayer at Australian Fashion Week ‘One Teaspoon appearance (Dancer), Guy Sebastian ARIA Awards, The Mask 2’ Feature Film (Dancer), NRL Grand Final Meatloaf (Dancer), work with International Illusionists Tony Laffan and Sam Powers and corporate entertainment for Popset, JFoxx, Mitsubishi, Guerlain, Goldwell among others in styles ranging from hip hop and street jazz to cabaret, jazz, lyrical and contemporary.
She has been called upon to choreograph for the Miss Chinese Australia Pageant (Star City), General Motors, Shanghai Tourism Festival Australian Student Team EDA, Tianjin International Children’s Festival (CHINA ‘Australian Representatives’ EDA), Schwarzkopf, the NRL – Sharks (1000+ dancers), the British Dancing Association, Australian recording artists, club shows and more. Jo’s teaching of Jazz, Funk, and Lyrical/ Contemporary extends beyond Sydney and has seen her travel both interstate and overseas as a guest at various studios and workshops.
