Rushcutter Entertainment is a new production company founded by young people to create exciting new Australian works. Their newest offering is ‘Alice’, a physical theatre interpretation of Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland. Created by Charles Sturt University Theatre/Media graduate and physical theatre performer Kirby Myers and directed by stage combatant and leading young choreographer Richard Lovegrove, ‘Alice’ brings together an energetic young cast and crew to present a refreshingly unique approach to a timeless classic. Using physical theatre, trapeze artistry, stilt walkers, acrobats, jugglers, combat artists and dancers this show is a fast paced, high energy and fun interpretation on a pre‐loved childhood story that will delight teenagers and adults alike. Talented young musician, composer and performer Annaliese Szota performs the role of ‘Alice’. Annaliese brings the character to life with a delicate blend of wide‐eyed youth and quiet quirkiness which gives audiences an honest point of reference in an otherwise muddled and absurd dream world. A seasoned performer at only 23 years of age, Annaliese has performed in an experimental theatre festival in Hanoi, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Darlinghurst Theatre Company’production of “As Bees in Honey Drown” as well as playing her own compositions at popular music venues across Sydney and the South Coast. This little girl’ journey down a rabbit hole is not the stuff of fairytales. You will discover drunken gun‐toting rabbits, a dismembered Cheshire cat and an egocentric Queen -and that’s just the long and short of it. www.rushcutterentertainment.com
