Choreographer in Residence
Chunky Move
Apply now to be the next Choreographer in Residence.
The Choreographer in Residence initiative is one of Chunky Move‘s major program elements, and is a significant commitment to supporting established, independent choreographers to develop their careers. Current recipient Joel Bray presents his new work Garabari this December, completing his two-year residency (read more about Garabari below).
A singular opportunity within the Australian dance ecology, the Choreographer in Residence is supported to develop and present new work, further their artistic practice, gain organisational knowledge, extend their professional networks and build a meaningful and long-standing connection with Chunky Move.
The successful applicant will receive a stipend of $25,000 per year for two years, a dedicated production budget ($20,000 year one + $50,000 year two) to enable the realisation of a new full length work, regular access to Chunky Move’s studios and office and extensive opportunities for structured and informal professional and practice development.
EOIs are open now, and close on 30 October Apply here
