Dance Academy Series 3 Extras Auditions
WHEN : Thursday 16th August
WHERE : St Leonards
TIME : Half Hour groups between 0800 – 1200
ABC’s favourite teen dance drama is back for its third series!
WE have just had word that Dance Academy Series 3 are currently auditioning for EXTRAS!
Tara and her friends are now seniors at the Academy and no one can forget for a second that the Company is watching. It will be a nail-biting chase to the finish line to see who will be offered a contract and finally achieve what they have been working towards for so long… and who will have to find a new dream!
Filming will be from late August until the end of November and they need advanced male and female ballet dancers to appear as extras. Casting are looking for dancers between the ages of 15 to 22 who look between 16 and 18. Unfortunately they can’t employ anyone under 15 so please don’t apply.
Casting are also looking for some older dancers (up to age 28) for Company extras roles.
Dance Academy is set in the top ballet school in the country so we are looking for a high standard; females must be able to do pointe work and all auditionees must be at advanced level.
If you are successful gaining an audition, you will need to know the following:
Please bring
- ballet gear – leotards, tights, flat ballet shoes, including pointe shoes for girls
- a recent head shot or photo (doesn’t have to be a professional photo)
- a pen to fill out paperwork
- Current measurements – height, chest, hips, inside and outside leg, and current shoe sizes (street, pointe and ballet pumps)
If interested please email Kari Scruby at extrasdance@gmail.com by Monday 13th August with :
- your name
- age (date of birth)
- sex
- mobile number
- ballet experience
If you are successful in gaining an audition, you will be informed of your audition time & the venue address on Tuesday 14th August.

Hi I was wondering do you have to wear pointe shoes because I did not get to do pointe when I was younger but I do have ballet shoes but I did not any pointe shoes because I wasn’t strong enough to do it but I did ballet training all my life.
Emily says:
Hi I’m 12 years old I’m wondering if I can be a extra I’ve done ballet when I was small but I dont do it now but I could practise

Hi Emily,
Sorry for delay getting back to you – the series was cast last year when the article was written. Extras are usually taken from dancers aged 15 years and above. Best wishes with your training this year.
Sincerely

Jemma Hadley says:
Hi I’m almost 14 years old and my dream is to be a famous actress like Alicia Banit. If there ever are any hip hop or modern dance extras for Dance Academy then I’d be honoured to be a part. I’ve done dancing all my life and I’ve acted for almost 5 years. Thanks
