DESCRIPTION:
Dynamite Studios (DS) is far more than a Performing Arts organisation. DSA is nestled in the heart of the Gold Coast’s entertainment precinct and offers a range of programs from a Performing Arts High School. DS programs are the perfect blend between dance industry training, experience and education for the purpose of creating well rounded and informed artists. Created with the purpose to inspire and facilitate excellence in dance education, DS has an impressive team of dynamic, creative, qualified and experienced artists in the lineup of trainers, assessors and choreographers including internationally renowned artists and three (3) qualified Secondary School teachers. DS prides itself on guiding students to reach their fullest potential, mentoring students on career pathways so they can leave the Academy with nationally accredited qualifications, confidence and resources necessary for a successful career.
Certificate II & III in Dance – A part time program offered to students in Year 9 and above; usually delivered one full day per week over a two-year school period. Stream one: Commercial Dance and Musical Theatre. Stream Two: Classical & Contemporary.
Certificate IV in Dance – Delivered as a one-year full time or two-year part time program that a high level of participation and time management as it is the link to the world of professional performance. The workload is intensive and challenging and the rewards are endless. DSA has built strong links with industry professionals nationally and overseas and has established their Certificate IV program based on that collaboration and developed benchmarks. DSA also recognises that talent is developed at various stages, as is technique and stagecraft.
Certificate IV in Dance Teaching & Management – aims to facilitate the development of professional skills in business operations, lesson planning, first aid and learning program development as well as a broad range of elective subjects. This program is designed for the dance teacher by experienced dance teachers and managers.
Diploma in Dance (Elite Performance) – is the next step in the professional dance training journey. The Diploma focuses students on developing the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career, setting and achieving goals in real-world situations. This is a full time program delivered over one year. Stream one: Commercial Dance – incorporates Contemporary, Showgirl, Ballet, Commercial Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Tap, Musical Theatre Conditioning, Stretch and Technique and Fitness. Stream Two: Circus – a blend of Dance, Circus Arts, Acrobatics, Aerial, Tumbling, Fitness and Conditioning
Diploma of Musical Theatre – an intensive two-year training program for students who have the potential to achieve excellent standards in the three core disciplines of singing, acting and dance. This program aims for each student to develop the rigor and skill to be competitive in the industry and graduate with highly developed skills in dancing, singing and acting. Training is practical with a distribution of classes in singing, acting and dance, in ensemble, solo and musical theatre repertoire.
