DanceLife caught up with the Artistic Director of Platform 2 Hip Hop Festival and Trav Ross the other day to chat about the Hip Hop Festival happening this weekend at CarriageWorks. CarriageWorks’ high-powered, 2-day Hip Hop Festival is happening on the 27th and 28th March, at Sydney’s freshest centre for contemporary arts.
Platform 2 Hip Hop Festival is all encompassing – showcasing DJs, MCs, breakdancers and vocalists to represent the unique character of Australian hip hop culture. Friday and Saturday nights feature jam-packed live breakdancing and MC battles and guest performances by Australia’s best hip hop artists (line up attached).
The rest of the Festival features workshops, demonstrations, competitions and a myriad of free events – including a new filmic element as we exhibit new and old school breaking clips and documentaries throughout the Festival.
PLUS, CarriageWorks is showcasing a MASSIVE collection of street art from the famous May’s Lane Street Art Project from 25 March – 6 April to coincide with Platform 2 Hip Hop Festival.
All events are either free, or $18 and under per ticket.
