Season 2025: A Journey of Love, Seduction, Wonder, and Joy

Queensland Ballet is thrilled to announce single tickets for its highly anticipated 2025 Season are now on sale. In its 65th anniversary year, the Company will enchant audiences with a mesmerising lineup of iconic masterpieces, world premieres, and a vibrant mix of works by Australian and international choreographic talent.

Season 2025: A journey of Love, Seduction, Wonder, and Joy

The 2025 Season promises an extraordinary blend of timeless ballet narratives inspired by literary giants Shakespeare, Choderlos de Laclos, Andersen, and Hoffmann. Alongside these, audiences will be treated to innovative contemporary works and eclectic musical scores that highlight Queensland Ballet’s dedication to storytelling and artistic excellence.

Season Highlights include:

  • Kenneth MacMillan’s Romeo & Juliet (21-29 March): A stunning retelling of Shakespeare’s romantic masterpiece, featuring passionate choreography, exquisite sets, and Prokofiev’s iconic score.
  • Triple Bill (27 June – 5 July): A dazzling showcase of Australian creativity, including works by Natalie Weir, Jack Lister, and Greg Horsman, accompanied by Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra performing live.
  • Peter and the Wolf (27 June – 5 July): Part of the special My First Ballet series, Greg Horsman has reimagined Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf with live music in conjunction with the Griffith Conservatorium of Music.
  • Bespoke 2025 (31 July – 9 August): A bold exploration of contemporary dance, with fresh works by Amelia Waller, Yolande Brown, as well as Robert Binet, who will incorporate Immersive Descriptive Audio for a groundbreaking experience.
  • Queensland Ballet Academy Gala (15 – 17 August): a sell-out success in 2024, showcasing the remarkable talents of the next generation of dancers in a vibrant program of classical and contemporary works.
  • Dangerous Liaisons (2 – 18 October): A sensual and electric narrative ballet by Liam Scarlett at the intimate Talbot Theatre.
  • The Nutcracker (5 – 13 December): The final chance to see Ben Stevenson OBE’s cherished version of this holiday classic at QPAC’s Lyric Theatre.
  • The Little Mermaid (18 – 23 December): Paul Boyd’s retelling of this enchanting story invites audiences to follow the tale of a daring mermaid in love. Part of our popular My First Ballet series.

Touring Program

Queensland Ballet continues its commitment to community engagement with regional tours of Greg Horsman’s light-hearted family favourite, Coppélia in Toowoomba (26 April) and Cairns (1 – 2 May).
