We Will Rock You Cancels Perth & Adelaide Seasons
We Will Rock You, the epic musical production by Queen and Ben Elton, opened in Sydney in April 2016, headed to Brisbane and is now playing its final season in Melbourne which will conclude the tour at the end of October at the Regent Theatre.
The show (produced by GFO, Queen Theatrical Productions, Phil McIntyre and Tribeca Theatrical Productions) was meant to then head to Perth’s Crown Theatre from November 15 and Adelaide’s Festival Theatre from December 30. The producers and website have only stated that the cancellation of the two final seasons is “due to unforeseen circumstances.” The show had received favourable reviews from both Sydney and Brisbane.
WE WILL ROCK YOU stars Gareth Keegan (Jersey Boys) as Galileo, Erin Clare (Heathers) as Scaramouche, Casey Donovan (The Sapphires) as Killer Queen, Brian Mannix (Uncanny X-Men) as Buddy, Jaz Flowers (Hairspray) as Oz, Thern Reynolds (Rock of Ages) as Brit, and Simon Russell (ABC TV’s Jack Irish) as Khashoggi. Since 2002 over 16 million theatregoers in 28 countries have been thrilled by this awe-inspiring production which is based on the songs of Queen with a book by Ben Elton (The Young Ones, Blackadder, Popcorn).
